Meet the Team

The ACPP is managed primarily by a Leadership Team which comprises several directors and administrators that all contribute to the smooth running of the organisation.

  • Mark Hunt

    Chair

Welcome to the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (CPP). One of the first mindfulness-based approaches to psychotherapy, CPP was founded more than thirty years ago, and thrives today with more than 350 accredited therapists in the UK and internationally. Our membership grows every year as more people come to know and appreciate the healing value of a compassionately motivated and deeply relational approach to the common suffering we all experience. Alongside a wonderful team, I feel privileged to serve the community of therapists and clients involved in our work. I have a private practice in South Devon and when I am not working, I love to spend time in nature and hiking in the mountains

  • Bridget Davey

    Secretary

Having been a musician all my professional life, I only became aware of Core Process Psychotherapy in my mid-forties. I have now been practicing for nearly fifteen years, first in London and now Brighton. Though I had never previously had any experience of secretarial work, I offered to take on the role for ACPP quite spontaneously. I had a strong urge to offer back something to that which has supported me so profoundly. It is a genuine pleasure to meet with others in the Leadership Team and to witness firsthand how Core Process is evolving.

  • Helen Cross

Chair of Ethics (Ethics Equality and Diversity Committee)

The Ethics Group exists to support ethical practice within the organisation and membership. We are eight practising members of ACPP from all parts of the UK and beyond, together with one external member. I joined in 2017 and have been chair since 2020. I really appreciate having the chance to meet with this group of thoughtful colleagues. Although the issues can sometimes be challenging and may not have easy answers, I most enjoy the opportunity to connect with members who contact us with questions and dilemmas.

  • Kay Parkinson

    Chair of Reaccreditation

As Chair of Reaccreditation, I hold the overview of the Reaccreditation process, offering support to Practitioners, Readers and Reviewers with Reaccreditation, Time Out, Sabbaticals, and Return to Practice. Reaccreditation is a deeply relational process, and I have been struck by how much care is taken in the ACPP approach.  I don’t consider myself a ‘natural’ form filing, box ticking, ‘Committee’ person, but having benefitted so much from the CPP community, I was keen to offer something back. I am a Senior Core Process Practitioner in private practice in the lovely Cornish coastal town of Penzance, currently drawn to working around the thresholds of old age, sickness and death.

  • Susan Mashkes

    Chair of Membership

I am the Chair of Membership for ACPP.  I have been a psychotherapist since 2004, following a long career in the corporate world.  Having completed my PQMA at Karuna Dartmoor in 2021, I wanted to stay connected to the training and all that it offers.  The Membership role and my position on the Committee give me the opportunity to welcome all the new people embarking on their careers as Core Process Therapists and be involved in the issues that are current in the psychotherapy field.  Working with others who are committed to our profession gives me the challenge and the community contact that is so valuable when our work is otherwise rather insular.
