Member Profile
Hello and welcome. I am a UKCP senior trainee in psychotherapy, with a wealth of experience of working with various emotional, relational and mental health difficulties as a psychiatrist in the NHS and academia.
Psychotherapy offers a supportive and compassionate space for you to explore whatever is bothering you – whether you have a clearly defined concern or something that is less tangible. We all experience difficulties in areas of our lives, and sometimes having a professional to guide us towards understanding and growth can be profoundly helpful. Whatever has led you personally to look for a therapist, you are very welcome to reach out by email to arrange an initial meeting, which I offer at no cost.
Psychotherapy – Core Process
My approach to psychotherapy, taught by the Karuna Institute, is inherently integrative. The work together meets you where you are with whatever may be happening in your life. Recognising that we are fundamentally relational beings, therapy also gives space to navigate various relationships and wider systems you feel in contact with, and the impact they may be having. As a way of working, this weaves together classic psychological ideas (such as theories of personality development and trauma ) with more ancient contemplative practices (such as the Buddhist tradition) that foreground bringing attention to how all of this feels in our minds and bodies – finding both safety and openness. Ultimately, it is my sense that therapy can bring us to an inner place of knowing greater self-love and freedom.
Starting therapy
I am able to work with clients with a large range of challenges. We would begin with a free initial meeting to discuss what you are looking for and see if this is the right fit to take things further.
Sessions are generally in-person at my clinic rooms in Walthamstow, East London, though we can accommodate doing some sessions online if that seems beneficial.
