As you are reading this, I imagine that something in your life needs attention or change. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, angry or grieving. You may be finding relationships difficult, struggling with a painful experience from the past, or simply feeling that something in your life is not quite as you would like it to be. You might also be looking for a deeper sense of meaning, understanding or direction.
I offer a warm, attentive and compassionate space where we can explore what is happening for you. In our weekly sessions we slow down and pay mindful attention to your experience in the present moment – your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and relational patterns. Through this shared exploration, new understanding and possibilities can gradually emerge.
My work is relational, integrative and embodied, grounded in Core Process Psychotherapy, a mindfulness-based approach that brings together psychological understanding with awareness of the body, emotions and mind. Together we explore how past experiences and relationships may still be shaping your present experience, while gently cultivating greater awareness, compassion and freedom in how you relate to yourself and others.
Our work may include talking about what is happening in your life now, noticing what is present in the body, exploring emotions and relationships, or working imaginatively or with dreams. The direction of therapy will develop from your individual experience and what feels most helpful for you.
As well as being an experienced psychotherapist, I am also a practising and ordained Buddhist and a parent. The therapy itself is open and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, beliefs and life experiences.
If you would like to explore whether therapy might be helpful, I offer an initial 30-minute conversation where we can talk about what is bringing you to therapy and what you are hoping for.
