‘The beauty of life is, while we cannot undo what is done, we can see it, understand it, learn from it and change. So that every new moment is spent not in regret, guilt, fear or anger but in wisdom, understanding and love.’ J.E
Most people experience times when external support becomes needed to go through difficulties or distress.
After having been a dairy farmer for almost 25 years and managed the farm for 8 years after the death of my husband, my life took a different direction. The farm was sold and I moved to Somerset where I have been ever since. The children were adults and it felt as if I was responded to a deep call inside me. It was not straightforward and I took a few side roads (training as a spiritual healer) before landing at Karuna. I first did two diplomas in Mindfulness in Relationships before embarking on the Masters.
In Core Process Psychotherapy both therapist and client are engaged in a joint healing process. In a compassionate and emphatic field, there is a developing awareness of how our history can limit us in our daily lives and relationships and a shift from identification with conditioned self is the start of the healing journey.
As part of my training, I have volunteered on a dementia ward and an acute mental health ward in Yeovil. I have trained as a Cruse Bereavement Volunteer, been a supervisor for Cruse Volunteers, worked for Mind in Wiltshire and used to work and become an associate for Taunton Counselling Services until 2021. I now only have a private practice and work from home in a purpose built psychotherapy studio.
I have worked with people suffering from depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, emotional, physical and psychological abuse, neglect, trauma, sexual abuse, people having relationship issues (I work with couples), people suffering from low self-esteem and confidence. I do work with clients who have addictions.
I have recently done two diplomas on awareness of ADHD and Autism and am doing a diploma on awareness of BPD.
