Member Profile
I am a UKCP accredited Core Process Psychotherapist and retired consultant Paediatrician.
I have a specialist interest in spirituality, working with people of all religious traditions and none. I work with spirituality explicitly in those seeking to deepen their relationship with the sacred through personal exploration and those experiencing spirituality related difficulties, including spiritual crisis, but I am also interested in the big existential questions affecting us all; questions like who are we and what is reality and how our perceptions of these change when we experience traumatic events or face our own or other’s mortality. I am an Ignatian spiritual director, have a longstanding Buddhist practice and have a BA (Hons) in Humanities and Religious Studies (1st class).
I also have an interest in how we come into being. As a Paediatrician, my work in neonatology was very much based in the western medical model, but I have done a significant amount of post-graduate training in pre and perinatal psychotherapy and now embrace a more holistic understanding. This combination gives me particular insight into pregnancy and childbirth and the trauma that may arise during this period. I am a certified APPPAH Pre and Perinatal Educator and a Foundation for Infant Loss Accredited Practitioner.
